BRODA SHAGGY Shooting: Police Caution Against Spreading of Unverified Information, as Investigation Begins

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation in reports claiming that popular comedian and social media content creator, BRODA SHAGGI, was hospitalized after coming under gun attack in the Sango Ota area of the state. The Police Public Relations Officer, OLUSEYI BABASEYI, made this known in a short message to journalists through the Whatapp account of the Ogun State Police Command. An earlier report by Punch Metro indicates that BRODA SHAGGY, whose real name is SAMUEL PERRY, was attacked around the Sango-Ota under-bridge area on Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026. The report noted that “although the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment on the matter said the content creator sustained the gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit at the location.” However, the Ogun State PPRO, OLUSEYI BABASEYI stated that: “For the sake of clarity, the Command cannot confirm that Broda Shaggi was shot anywhere within Ogun State. Investigation into the matter has, however, commenced.” The PPRO urged members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and allow the investigation to run its course.
