BUSINESSMAN CONFESSES TO NDLEA AFTER INGESTING 53 WRAPS OF COCAINE, PLUS OTHERS
Operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a businessman at the Port Harcourt International Airport for ingesting fifty-three wraps of cocaine.
The suspect, identified as forty-four-year-old EZEMOKWE CHUKWUEBUKA CHRISTIAN, was said to be traveling to Iran, when he was arrested on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
NDLEA spokesman, FEMI BABAFEMI, disclosed in a statement that the suspect claimed to have gone into the criminal drug trade two years ago, moving between the West African sub-region and Iran.
BABAFEMI further disclosed that NDLEA operatives also intercepted tramadol capsules concealed in winter jackets going to Europe at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
He gave the name of the suspect as EDOBOR AMBROSE ALI, adding that he was arrested on Saturday, June 14, on an Air France flight.
The spokesman said NDLEA officers uncovered the drugs hidden in the luggage of the suspect with the help of the Aviation Security personnel of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
