Caught Red Handed: Police Detains Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge Vandal
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one eighteen-year-old DOGARA JOHN on suspicion of vandalism of road fittings on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ABIMBOLA ADEBISI, disclosed in a statement that DOGARA JOHN was caught with twenty vandalized reflective road studs, allegedly removed from the Third Mainland Bridge.
ADEBISI said the suspect was arrested on the Third Mainland Bridge on April 6, 2026, while tampering with road safety installations.
These road studs, with light flickers, are installed on the road to help with vehicular navigation and prevent crashes, especially at night.
Following the development, the PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, TIJANI FATAI, reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for vandalism and all forms of damage to public infrastructure.
CP FATAIN noted that such actions do not only endanger lives, but also undermine ongoing efforts to maintain safety and order across the state.
He further urged residents to stay alert and report suspicious activities, particularly around public infrastructure, to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines:
