COURT JAILS MOHAMMED GOBIR 7 YEARS FOR DEFRAUDING AFROMEDIA
The Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has sentenced one MOHAMMED GOBIR to seven years imprisonment for Three Hundred Million Naira fraud.
Justice R.I.B. ADENIYI handed out the judgment following a successful prosecution of GOBIR on seventeen counts of fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The EFCC first arrested GOBIR on September 12, 2015, following a petition received by an outdoor advertising company, Afromedia, which accused him of alleged fraud.
It was alleged that GOBIR used his position as Chairman, Business Development Committee on the Board of Director of Afromedia to defraud the company.
In his judgment, Justice ADENIYI ordered GOBIR to pay restitution of One Million US Dollars and One Hundred and Twenty-Three Million Naira he stole from the company.
