COURT ORDERS FORFEITURE OF TRUCK, CONSIGNMENT OF SOLID MINERALS
The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has ordered the final forfeiture of a truck and its consignment of solid mineral to the Federal Government.
Justice OLUKAYODE ARIWOOLA JUNIOR made the order yesterday, July 1, 2025, following and application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, through its counsel, SESAN OLA, told the court that the truck was impounded with assorted solid mineral suspected to have been illegally sourced, and that no one had come forward to take possession of both the vehicle and the consignment.
The counsel said that the application relied on provisions of Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, No. 14, 2006 and Section 44(2) B of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his ruling, Justice ARIWOOLA said the applicant has provided sufficient reasons for the said truck to be forfeited and granted the application of the Commission as prayed.
