Female Terrorists Arms Courier to Die by Hanging in Katsina State

A Federal High Court in Katsina State has sentenced a woman to death by handing for terrorism-related offences.

The convict, HAUWA’U MUKHTAR was found guilty of conspiracy to commit terrorism as well as aiding and abetting terrorist activities.

HAUWA’U MUKHTAR was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, at Jibia Motor Park in Katsina on September 16, 2023.

At the time of her arrest, HAUWA’U MUKHTAR was found with four hundred and thirty-eight rounds of ammunition, which she was said to be taking to a notorious bandit leader who operates within the Dunburum Forest of Zamfara State.

During the trial, the prosecution presented witnesses, documentary evidence and exhibits linking the defendant to the offences.

After reviewing the evidence and listening to arguments from both the prosecution and defence counsel, Justice A. B. BAWALE, held that the prosecution established its case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted MUKHTAR on both counts.
