GOVERNOR ABIODUN VISITS OLUMO ROCK, PROMISES FACELIFT TO BOOST OGUN TOURISM POTENTIALS

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, has pledged the commitment of his administration to make the Olumo Rock the best tourism destination in Nigeria, as the site recorded over 20,000 visitors in 2024. Governor Abiodun says the commitment is in line with the shift in the focus of the administration to tourism as a deliberate policy, with the aim of harnessing its immense economic potentials. The Governor, who made this known during and inspection visit to the Olumo Rock Tourist Center, said he recognized its significance in preserving the deep culture, history, and traditions of Egbaland and Ogun State as a whole.  He said "Olumo Rock, being our foremost tourist attraction, will receive the necessary uplift to attact more visitors, adding that “If we are not intentional about restoring, maintaining, and protecting our heritage sites, they risk deterioration.” “These sites serve as a vital link between our past and present, preserving our identity for future generations” the Governor added.
