INDIAN MAN ARRESTED IN LAGOS FOR SMUGGLING TRAMADOL AS MULTIVITAMIN
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested an Indian businessman and three suspected accomplices over a consignment of Three-Point-Nine Billion Naira tramadol at the Lagos Airport.
NDLEA spokesman, FEMI BABAFEMI, identified the Indian businessman as GUPTA RAVI KUMAR, adding that his three Nigerian accomplices are OGUNLANA NOAH OLANREWAJU, OLUSHOLA IDREES KAYODE and BAKARE KOREDE MUHEEB.
BABAFEMI said the tramadol shipment intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, which was imported from the Indian city of Delhi, was disguised as multi-vitamins.
He said a team of NDLEA officers, who were put on surveillance over the consignment, swooped on a clearing agent and two drivers who were trying to move the shipment out of the airport in two trucks on Thursday September 11, 2025.
