KADUNA COURT JAILS FRAUDSTERS POSING AS TEDDY SWIMS & RITCHIE INMAN ON FACEBOOK

A Kaduna State High Court has convicted Al-Mustapha Isah Gupa and Qareeb Adekunle Yusuf for criminal impersonation and cheating.

The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned the convicts on separate one-count charge.

Qareeb Adekunle Yusuf was accused of impersonating Teddy Swims (M) on Facebook, and cheated several unsuspecting victims of the sum of $200 between January and April, 2025 at Kaduna.

On his part, Al-Mustapha Isah Gupa was accused of impersonating on Ritchie Inman also on Facebook and cheated several persons on or about April, 2024 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court.

EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said both the accused persons pleaded "guilty" to the charge against them, and Justice Isiaka sentenced Yusuf to three years imprisonment or to pay N400,000 (Four Hundred Thousand Naira) fine.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of $200.000 (Two Hundred US dollars) as well as iPhone 11 Pro Max, being the tool of his crime to the federal government.

Similarly, Justice Isiaka sentenced Gupa to three years imprisonment or a fine of N150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) fine.

In addition to his jail term, he forfeited iPhone 15 Pro Max, being the tool of his crime to the federal government.
