LAGOS CP ORDERS INVESTIGATION OF OKOKO TACTICAL SQUAD COMMADER
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, OLOHUNDARE JIMOH, has ordered an investigation into the activities of the Tactical Squad attached to the Okokomaiko Police Division.
CP JIMOH also ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commander of the Okokomaiko Tactical Squad for alleged complicity in the investigation and prosecution of six suspects involved in what the State Police Command described as serious crimes.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP BENJAMIN HUNDEYIN, disclosed in a statement that the investigative panel is headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department.
CSP HUNDEYIN noted that the DCP in charge of State CID will work with other senior officers, including the OC Legal, in the investigation of the allegations against the Okokomaiko Tactical Squad commander and submit their findings within a week.
He maintained that the Lagos State Police Command does not support any form of corruption, complicity or compromise of investigation and prosecution procedures by any of its officers, adding that officers found wanting would be made to face appropriate disciplinary measures.
