Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps Officer Faces Disciplinary Action for Alleged N20,000 Bribe
The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has activated disciplinary proceedings against an officer of the Environmental Sanitation Corps for allegedly receiving bribe from a lawbreaker.
The Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, TOKUNBO WAHAB, confirmed the development in a statement on his Facebook page, saying that such conduct was unacceptable and runs contrary to the rules, ethics, and core values of the agency.
Without disclosing the name of the officer, WAHAB noted that the affected individual has been issued a query, which would be followed with the setting up of a Personnel Management Board to investigate the matter in accordance with the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
He said the Lagos State Government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and any form of misconduct within its public service.
The Commissioner warned that any officer found culpable will be subjected to the appropriate disciplinary measures as stipulated by the relevant regulations.
