NDLEA BURST HARD DRUG PACKAGED AS GREEN TEA AT LAGOS AIRPORT, OTHERS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has intercepted a consignment of hard drugs packages as green tea at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.

NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, FEMI BABAFEMI, said operatives recovered sixty-six parcels of Loud, a stronger variant of Cannabis, packaged green tea at the Lagos Airport.

In a statement, BABAFEMI said the seizure was made on Thursday, June 5, 2025, based on credible intelligence which was received ahead of the arrival of the consignment at the cargo wing of the airport.

In another operation in Lagos, the spokesman said NDLEA operatives on Monday, June 2, 2025, intercepted a consignment of Skunk Cannabis along the Lekki-Epe expressway and arrested two suspects, identified as GIDADO ABDULRASAQ AYINDE and OBANLA OLUWAFEMI.

Elsewhere, NDLEA operatives under the Kaduna State Command arrested one twenty-nine-year-old GOODLUCK NNAEMEKA with 612 bottles of codeine-based syrup and 2,970 pills of flunitrazepam.

In Edo State, NDLEA operatives equally arrested two young ladies identified as FAVOUR JOY and JOY IGWE at Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City with consignments of Skunk, Loud, Colorado and Methamphetamine.
