The Nigerian Weekly Law Reports – the foremost law publication in the country – is forty years old, having been established by late human rights advocate and constitutional lawyer, Chief GANI FAWEHINMI, in October, 1985.

The NWLR fortieth anniversary celebration held at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, and the event brought together lawyers and senior judicial officers from diverse backgrounds.

While reflecting on the values of the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports to the legal profession in Nigeria, the participants paid glowing tributes to late GANI FAWEHINMI.

Two founding members of the NWLR – TAYO OYETIBO and WEMIMO OGUNDE, who are both Senior Advocates of Nigeria, were also present and they shared vivid recollections of the journey of the publication and fond memories of their revered associate, late GANI FAWEHINMI

On his part; the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Nigerian Law Publications Limited, ROTIMI OBENDE, said the future is to extend the influence of the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports beyond Nigeria.

The Nigerian Weekly Law Reports anniversary event also featured the public unveiling of two new publications – the Nigerian Case Law Dictionary and the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports: 40 of Trail Blazing Law Reporting in Nigeria – both published by the Nigerian Law Publication Limited.
