OOPL MGT PROTEST, AS EFCC RAIDS HOTEL, ARREST 93 SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested ninety-three suspected internet fraudsters following a raid at a hotel within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
EFCC spokesman, DELE OYEWALE, said operatives involved in the raid also impounded eighteen vehicles of assorted types, as well as various mobile devices from the suspects.
However, the action of the EFCC did not go down well with the management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, as it has threatened legal action against the EFCC over the raid.
The Managing Director of the OOPL, VITALIS ORTESE, issued the threat in a statement on Sunday, saying the EFCC operation was a blatant disrespect for the fundamental right of the organisation as a corporate citizen.
ORTESE maintained that the EFCC acted in a primitive manner, as organisers of the event that was targeted had police officers, who were mobilised from the Kemta Police Station, Abeokuta.
