PFIPC Probe: Businessman Claims Paying N400m Contract Facilitation Fee to ADENIYI ADEYEMI

A man has alleged that he offered the sum of Four Hundred Million Naira to the so-called Director General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, PFIPC, ADENIYI ADEYEMI.

It is not clear if the money is the same ADEYEMI alleged to have used to bribe the Chief of Staff to the President to secure his appointment. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA denied the allegation and several others made by ADEYEMI.

The claimant, identified as GBENGA COLLINS, appeared before the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee investigating the PFIPC scandal.

COLLINS, who claims to be a businessman, alleged that he gave the money to ADENIYI ADEYEMI to facilitate the award of a contract.

He told the federal lawmakers at the resumed sitting of the investigative committee that he had travelled to Abuja for an official meeting ADEYEMI.

He said after the meeting, he was handed a contract award letter for the renovation and furnishing of the official residence of the PFIPC’s Director-General.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the committee, YUSUF GAGDI, has said that the delay in ADEYEMI’s appearance before the committee is because he is currently being detained by the police and also being facing investigations by anti-graft agencies.

Following the development, YUSUF GAGDI said the committee plans to meet with ADEYEMI discreetly as part of its ongoing investigation.

The committee has also summoned the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps to explain the official Federal Government number plates allegedly assigned to vehicles linked to the PFIPC.
