POLICE ARREST MOHAMMED, ABUBAKAR, AHMED FOR KIDNAPPING, MURDER IN RIVERS STATE

Three men from the northern part of Nigeria have been arrested for kidnapping for ransom and murder of their victims in Rivers State.
The suspects are twenty-year-old HASSAN MOHAMMED from Borno State; twenty-five-year-old BELLO ABUBAKAR from Sokoto State; and twenty-three-year-old YUSUF AHMED from Bauchi State.
The suspected allegedly kidnapped and murdered one HUMPHREY WAGBARA from Igwuruta-Ali in Rivers State after collecting ransom of Six-Point-Nine Million Naira.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP GRACE IRINGE-KOKO, confirmed the arrest of the suspected kidnappers in a statement earlier today.
SP IRINGE-KOKO said operatives of the Rivers State Police Command’s Anti-Cultism Unit arrested the suspects at different locations in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre Local Government Areas.
The Police Public Relations Officer said the suspects also kidnapped one MERCY CHINYERE on September 12, 2025, also at Igwuruta-Ali, who was later released after they collected Three-Point-Five Million Naira ransom from the family.
The police spokeswoman said items recovered from the suspects include a G-3 Rifle and one Magazine, as well as three daggers, a Jack knife, a stainless short knife, and an Itel phone belonging to their murdered victim, HUMPHREY WAGBARA.
