RAINSTORM TOPPLES COMMUNICATION MAST ON RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN AJUWON, OGUN STATE

The Ogun State Police Command has
confirmed the collapse of a communication mast on residential buildings in Ajuwon, Akute area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola revealed in a statement that a distress call about the incident was received from one Mr. Moses Olalere at about 14:39 hour on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

CSP Odutola noted that the mast belonging to IHS Company, collapsed under heavy rainfall on a residential building in Unity Estate, Alagbole,

The PPRO said the owner of the building, who was inside the house at the time of the incident, survived with minor bruises.

The Police spokeswoman said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, later issued a directive for heightened awareness and public sensitization across the state due to the current adverse weather.

She noted that Police Area Commanders the state have been directed to urgently engage with companies that own masts situated near residential areas to assess their structural integrity and ensure safety of lives and property.

The PPRO said preliminary investigation has commenced into the Ajuwon, Akute incident, and members of the public will be notified of further development.
