SEXUAL OFFENCES TRIAL: DIDDY TO REMAIN IN PRISON TILL OCT 3 FOR SENTENCING, AFTER ACQUITTAL OF MORE SERIOUS CHARGES

American hip-hop star, SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS, will remain in prison until October 3 for sentencing following his conviction on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Judge ARUN SUBRAMANIAN of the New York court refused to grant COMBS’ bail pending sentencing, citing his history of violence.

COMBS faces up to twenty years in prison, which could have been worse, except that he was acquitted the most serious charges of racketeering and sex-trafficking, which carries life sentence.

In the trial that lasted nearly two months in New York City, prosecutors accused COMBS of using his celebrity status and business empire to run a criminal enterprise to sex traffic women.

After an extensive deliberation that lasted over thirteen hours, the jury found COMBS not guilty of sex racketeering and sex trafficking of two women, including his former partner, CASANDRA VENTURA.
