Shettima Celebrates One-Day Vice President, Joy Ogah

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on Monday, October 20, 2025, temporarily vacated his seat for Joy Ogah to preside as Vice President for one day. Joy Ogah was led to the office of the Vice President by the Director of Programme, Quality and Innovation, PLAN International Nigeria, Helen Mfonobong Idiong. In a post on his social media handle, Vice President Shettima noted that during the visit, “I also invited a teenager, Joy Ogah, to take over my seat as the Vice President for a day and address the nation. “In my remarks, I assured stakeholders and development partners of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to promoting girl-child education across Nigeria. “We will continue our engagement with PLAN International and explore how the force and strength of government can be brought to bear on your solid advice regarding girl-child education.”
