SOWORE Alleges Exposure to Tuberculosis Inmates in Kuje Correctional Centre

The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, OMOYELE SOWORE, says there is nothing corrective about the custodial centers of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

OMOYELE SOWORE says nothing has changed from when the Nigerian Prisons Service had its name changed to the Nigeria Correctional Service.

SOWORE made the observations from his recent experience at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, where he was detained over his trial for alleged cybercrimes against President BOLA TINUBU.

The publisher of the Sahara Reporters online tabloid said the custodial facility is still overcrowded by inmates who are largely awaiting trial.

He further alleged that the authorities deliberately had him exposed to inmates with tuberculosis at the Kuje Correctional Centre, thereby putting his life at risk.
