THREE SUSPECTS IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR POSSESSION OF HUMAN BODY PARTS IN OGUN STATE
Operatives of the Ogun State Police have arrested three suspects for alleged ritual killing, human organs harvesting and unlawful trading in human body parts.
The suspects are 36-year-old Sunday Akintobi, a resident of Itoku area in Abeokuta; 40-year-old Oladimeji Olaniran; and 38-year-old Isaiah Tijani.
Operatives of the SWAT team of the Ogun State Police Command arrested Akintobi on April 22, 2025, following which the two others were arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola who confirmed the development in a statement, said detectives recovered human body parts during a search of the suspects' residences.
CSP Odutola said the police also recovered cerebral bones from a location disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape town, along Abiola Way in Abeokuta.
Following the development, the PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case.
