1ST AFRICAN DEFENCE CHIEFS SUMMIT OPENS IN ABUJA

The 2025 African Defence Chiefs Summit has opened in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with heads of the militaries of Africa states in attendance.

The African Defence Chiefs Summit is the first of its kind, with military delegations from thirty-five African countries expected to be in attendance.

The summit aims to provide a high-level platform for African defence chiefs to deliberate on pressing security challenges, enhance military cooperation, and advance regional stability.

Nigeria’s Vice President, KASHIM SHETTIMA, is present at the event to deliver an address from President BOLA TINUBU to the top military officers.

In his welcome remarks, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General CHRISTOPHER MUSA, reminded the participants that the security challenges confronting the confronting Africa do not recognize geographical borders.

General CHRISTOPHER MUSA also pledged the commitment of the Nigerian military to the security and safety of Africa, working in collaboration with other sister nations.
