ABIA STATE JUDICIAL PANEL ON RECOVERY OF PROPERTIES, FUNDS SUBMITS REPORT
The Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Government Properties, Funds and Other Related Matters, has concluded its assignment and submitted a report.
During the presentation of the report, the Chairman of the panel, retired Justice FLORENCE DUROHA-IGWE, said the Judicial Panel received about three hundred and fifty petitions and memoranda, out of which two hundred and seventy-eight were considered.
In his response, Governor ALEX OTTI emphasized that the Judicial Panel was not set up as a form of vendetta or witch-hunting against any individual, but out of the need to know what happened under past administration.
Governor OTTI said his administration observed that there were no proper handover by past administrations, which made it difficult to track information related to the state government.
He assured that the Abia State Government would take the report seriously, saying that a committee has already been put in place to draft the whitepaper for implementation of the recommendations.
