CAS CHARGES TROOPS TO SUSTAIN OPERATION AGAINST BANDITS IN KATSINA, SOKOTO
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has directed personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to intensify air offensives against bandits and ensure maximum protection for civilians.
The CAS directive aligns with the NAF Civilian Harm Mitigation Action Plan and reinforces its commitment to precision air operations that prioritize civilian safety.
Air Marshal Abubakar gave the charge during his visit to the Headquarters of the Air Component of Operation Fansam Yamma in Katsina and Sokoto States.
NAF Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, said the CAS commended the troops for their unwavering dedication and urged them to sustain the momentum.
Recognizing the critical role of intelligence, logistics, and troop welfare in operational success, Group Captain Ali said the Chief of Air Staff reassured the Nigerian Air Force personnel of continuous support in those areas.
He said during his visit, the CAS conducted a first-hand assessment of operational aircraft and ongoing infrastructural projects, including the newly constructed accommodation and other operational facilities in Sokoto.
Similarly, in Katsina, he said the Chief of Air Staff evaluated key infrastructure projects, including a new hangar facility, accommodation, and a Base church, which he said underscored NAF commitment to the operational efficiency and well-being of its personnel.
He said the CAS visit comes at a critical time as the NAF, in collaboration with other security agencies, intensifies efforts to dismantle bandit networks and restore security across the North-West region.
