CNN, Others Sue TRUMP Over White House Eviction

Some media outlets in the United States, including the CNN, have sued President DONALD TRUMP for barring their journalists from covering the White House and revoking their press credentials.

The other media organisations that announced the legal action on Monday are MS NOW and Politico, saying they were seeking to protect their First Amendment rights and restore their access to the White House.

The development followed TRUMP’s decision on Friday to bar the three outlets from the White House, accusing them of reporting what he described as “fiction and lies” about him, his administration and the United States.

However, in a joint statement published by CNN, MS NOW and Politico on Monday, the outlets said the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.

They claim that the government action, if left unchallenged, threatens press freedom and the public’s right to independent journalism free from government interference.
