Court Strikes Out EMEKA IKE's N10b Case Against NYESOM WIKE's Aide, LERE OLAYINKA
The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a Ten-Billion-Naira fundamental rights suit filed by Nollywood actor, EMEKA IKE, against LERE OLAYINKA, the spokesman for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, NYESOM WIKE, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Justice SALIM IBRAHIM dismissed EMEKA IKE’s suit for lack of proof after upholding the preliminary objections filed by the respondents, challenging the competence of the action.
EMEKA IKE had accused LERE OLAYINKA of violating his fundamental right to privacy by publishing his voter registration details on his X handle in May.
He alleged that LERE’s publication exposed his personal information, including details of the transfer of his voter registration from Imo State to the Federal Capital Territory.
The movie actor had aspired to contest the House of Representatives seat for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency on the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress.
