Unlawful NSA Telephone Interception: Court Dismisses EL-RUFAI's 'No Case' Submission
Former governor of Kaduna State, Malam NASIR EL-RUFAI, has been ordered to enter his defence in the case of alleged tapping of the telephone of the National Security Adviser, NUHU RIBADU.
Justice JOYCE ABDULMALIK of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja issued the order after dismissing EL-RUFAI’s ‘no case’ submission in the charges of unlawful telecommunication interception.
EL-RUFAI had in his court filings through his defence lawyers, claimed that there was no sufficient evidence provided by the prosecution to warrant a defence to be entered on his behalf.
However, Joyce ABDULMALIK held that the prosecution provided sufficient evidence to warrant calling on the defendant to enter his defence.
Reports from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, indicate that EL-RUFAI was brought to court for the session, as he was seen in one of the video clips exchanging an affectionate kiss with his wife inside the courtroom, amidst onlookers.
