Court Affirms Nenadi Usman's National Caretaker Committee as "Valid and Lawful" Leadership of Labour Party

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice PETER LIFU has affirmed the National Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party, led by ESTHER NENADI USMAN, as the valid and lawful leadership of the party. Popular human rights lawyer, INIBEHE EFFIONG, who confirmed the development, said he was in the court for another matter when Justice LIFU delivered the ruling. He said Justice LIFU cited an earlier judgment by the Supreme Court affirming that the tenure of the JULIUS ABURE as National Chairman had since elapsed. According to the report, Justice LIFU further ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize NNADI USMAN forthwith.
