EID CELEBRATION: CP JIMOH APPROVES MASSIVE POLICE DEPLOYMENT ACROSS LAGOS STATE

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered full mobilisation of police personnel and equipment to ensure comprehensive security during for the celebration of Muslim feast of Eid-el-Fitr and beyond.
These include the Police Mobile Force units, Counter Terrorism Units, Special Protection Units, the Rapid Response Squad, the Police Explosive Ordnance detachment, K9 Units, Police Mounted Troops units, and Tactical Squads.
CP Jimoh directed that special attention should be given to identified black spots and flash points to prevent crimes, remove fear from the minds of all residents and visitors to Lagos, and ensure a hitch-free Eid celebration.
He directed that Armoured Personnel Carriers and vehicular patrol teams to strictly focus on all Eld praying grounds throughout the state, as well as celebration venues, recreational areas and other public spaces where people are expected to gather in large numbers.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjain Hundeyin, Chief Superintendent of Police, the Police Commissioner said the proactive security measures are expected to help detect and prevent the commission of crimes and other security breaches.
CSP Hundeyin further noted that the Lagos State Police would work together with other security and safety agencies in the state, such as the Military, the Paramilitary agencies, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to ensure adequate security, safety and protection of all Lagosians and visitors alike during the festivities and beyond.
He said CP Olohundare Jimoh has mandated all officers and men of the Lagos State Command to discharge their duties with utmost professionalism, courtesy, and firmness, while ensuring that the rights of all citizens are respected.
He also urged Lagosians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station for immediate response and actions.

He further said that parents and guardians are also advised to prevail on their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used to cause disturbance of the peace and tranquillity currently being enjoyed throughout Lagos State.
The statement noted that as Muslims across the state enjoy the joy of the Eid celebrations, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police wishes them sustainable peace, love and joy associated with the Holy ceremony and Eld Mubarak.
