Man Beaten to Death for "Playing" with Neighbour's 3year-Old Daughter

Police in Ogun State have detained a man identified as EDEBIRI TEMITOPE for allegedly killing his neighbour over claims that the deceased hugged and played with his three-year-old daughter.

The Police Public Relations Officer disclosed in a statement that forty-three-year-old EDEBIRI TEMITOPE allegedly beat thirty-eight-year-old MIKE OJE to death in the Mowe area of Ogun State.

The PPRO described the victim as a university graduate, with a degree in guidance and counseling, adding that he was beaten repeatedly with a bamboo stick by EDEBIRI TEMITOPE until he collapsed and died.

The police spokesman said TEMITOPE appeared to have been infuriated by what he described as MIKE’s "rough play" with his daughter.

He said the suspect was arrested after initially going into hiding with his family, and he has been transferred to the State CID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
