President BOLA TINUBU has reappointed OGBUGO KALU UKOHA as Executive Director in charge of Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA.

OGBUGO KALU UKOHA who was first appointed to the position in October 2021, is among three Executive Directors of the NMDPRA reappointed by President TINUBU for another term of five years.

The three names were contained in a list of six individuals, including three new Executive Directors of the NMDPRA, which President TINUBU forwarded to the Senate for screening and confirmation of their appointment for a term of five years.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, BAYO ONANUGA, confirmed the development in a statement, which listed MOBOLAJI MUSA as the incoming Executive Director for Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure.

The other two incoming Executive Directors are OGECHUKWU MODIE who is to take charge of Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and SAID ABUTALIB who is to serve as Executive Director for Corporate Services and Administration.

ONANUGA noted that President TINUBU also approved the appointment of JUMOKE GAFAR as Secretary to the Board and Legal Adviser of the NMDPRA, subject to completion of the statutory processes under Section 46 of the Petroleum Industry Act.

According to the letter dated October 30, 2026, the President urged the Senate to consider the nominations expeditiously to ensure institutional continuity and strengthen the Authority’s oversight capacity.

The nominations come months after President TINUBU appointed RABIU UMAR as the Chief Executive Officer of the NMDPRA in April, 2026.
