OGUN CP INTERVENES IN NANS PROTEST ON LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY OVER STUDENTS LOAN SCHEME

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) earlier today, Monday, May 5, 2025, blocked a section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in protest over alleged mismanagement of the students loan scheme of the Federal Government. However, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, intervened and managed to the NANS members to end the blockade and call off their demonstration. The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, said the NANS protest caused temporary disruption of vehicular movement on the expressway before the intervention of CP Ogunlowo. CSP Odutola said thereafter, CP Ogunlowo invited the NANS leaders for a meeting at State Police Command Headquarters at Eleweran, where he encouraged them to seek other means to express their grievances.
