ONNA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS, INI EDO, OVER FATHER’S DEATH

The family home of Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, in Akwa Ibom State, has continued to entertain mourners over the death of her father, Elder (Hon.) Edo Jonathan Ekim. The latest visitors include the Chairman of Onna Local Government, Kufre Umoren, who led a team on a condolence visit to Ini Edo and members of her family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The Nollywood star was personally on ground to receive the visitors, and she thanked the Chairman and Onna stakeholders for their show of love and support as they mourn their departed father. Ini Edo said that their visit meant a lot to the family, and she prayed for God to bless and grant the delegation journey mercies back to their various destinations. Earlier, the Onna LG Chairman, Kufre Umoren, expressed deep sympathy for the family of the deceased, saying that they understood their grief and the void the void created by the exit of their beloved father. "I am here to commiserate with the family on the loss of your beloved father. Losing a loved one, regardless of when they pass, leaves an undeniable void.”- he said. Umoren encouraged the family to uphold the legacy of late Elder Ekim, just as he highlighting the achievements of his daughter, Ini Edo, as a renowned actress who has brought pride to the family and the community. The Council Chairman prayed for divine comfort for the family in the difficult time of mourning and promised to stand by the family through the period.
