Police Confirms 2 Terrorists/Bandits Killed in Failed Abduction of WASSCE Students in Kogi State
Police in Kogi State have foiled an attempted mass abduction of students at the Government Secondary School, Iluke, in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as the students were writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
A notorious bandit leader, identified as IBRAHIM BACCUJO, is also reported to have died from gunshot wounds he sustained from the failed operation.
The spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, ASP SALIU OYIZA AFUSAT, confirmed the developments in a statement.
ASP SALIU said the breakthrough was made possible through the strong synergy among the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army and other military formations, including the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
SALIU additional intelligence obtained by the police indicate that another notorious bandit, identified as ISA MAI DABBABA, was also neutralized during the coordinated operation.
