Police Nab 4 Suspected Armed Robbers in Ajah Area of Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command arrested four suspected armed robbers and cultists, and also recovered three firearms and live ammunition in the Ajah axis of the metropolis.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent ABIMBOLA ADEBISI, who made this known in a statement, identified the suspects as KAREEM ABIODUN, ‘m’, 26; TANSIRU EMMANUEL, ‘m’, 29; LATEEF USMAN, ‘m’, 28; and ALASHE AZEEZ, ‘m’, 32.

Superintendent ADEBISI said the operation followed sustained follow-up activities in connection with a robbery incident around Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki.

The PPRO disclosed in a statement that the suspects also made confessional statements regarding their involvement in armed robbery, murder and cultism.

She said, “The suspects are currently in Police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and possible recovery of other exhibits in their possession, after which they will be charged to court accordingly.”

The PPRO also noted that “the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP TIJANI FATAI, psc, mnips, has commended the operatives for their diligence and sustained follow-up efforts. He charged the operatives to sustain the momentum and intensify efforts towards apprehending other members of the gang, while warning cultists, armed robbers, and other violent criminals that the Command will continue to deploy intelligence-led operations to track down and bring them to justice.”
