Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have foiled an attempted trafficking of over seventy children for forced labour in the Kasuwan Magani area of Kaduna State.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP BENJAMIN HUNDEYIN, said operatives intercepted the vehicle conveying the children in the evening hours of Monday, January 5, 2026.

CSP HUNDEYIN said the operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kasuwan Magani Division and a total of seventy-six children, some as young as seven, were rescued.

The Force PRO said the police also arrested three suspects, identified as JONATHAN JOHN, OLIVER MAGAJI, and BITRUS SAWABA, who are between twenty-three and twenty-seven years old.

He said the suspects are currently in police custody, while the rescued children are being kept safely at the Command Headquarters pending the arrival and proper identification of their parents or guardians.
