PSC Presents 50,000 Recruited Police Constables for Training
The Police Service Commission has formally handed over 50,000 newly recruited Police Constables to the Nigeria Police Force for training.
PSC Commissioner 1, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, JSC (Rtd), performed the handover ceremony at the Commission's Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, on behalf of the Chairman.
In his remarks, Justice Galumje emphasized that the recruitment of the police constables was conducted in line with relevant statutes, as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, just as he thanked the President for his support.
Justice Galumje also presented a computer flashdrive containing the detailed list of successful candidates in police constables recruitment exercise to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training and Development, DIG Isyaku Mohammed, who represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, at the ceremony.
In his acceptance remarks, DIG Mohammed commended the PSC for a "transparent exercise and assured that training will commence nationwide once funds are released".
The PSC spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, who confirmed the development in a statement, said the Ministry of Police Affairs was represented by Mr. Ibrahim A. Muhammad, the Director, Police Service Department, who described the process "as credible and transparent".
He said the Secretary to the PSC, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Esq., who also attended the event, expressed delight at the commendable outcome of the recruitment exercise, which he attributed to teamwork by all stakeholders.
