Suspected Portugal-Based Drug Trafficker Expels 72 Wraps of Cocaine in Enugu

One LOVELY CHUKWULOBELU has been forced to expel seventy-two wraps of cocaine he ingested for smuggling to Portugal, before he was arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested twenty-five-year-old CHUKWULOBELU on Thursday last week, September 25, 2026, as he attempted to board an Ethiopian Airline flight to Portugal via Addis Ababa.

NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, FEMI BABAFEMI, said the suspect claimed to be into car decoration business at the Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo area of Lagos before he relocated to Portugal in May 2023.

BABAFEMI further noted that CHUKWULOBELU claimed to have returned home for his traditional marriage ceremony on September 13, with pictures and a wedding band to support his claim.

Similarly; NDLEA operatives on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, intercepted opioid worth over Three Billion Naira at the import shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja Lagos, imported in three consignments from India and Bangladesh.
