ADC Congresses, National Convention to Go Ahead Without INEC Recognition of DAVID MARK-Led NWC

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, is going ahead with plans for its congresses and national convention, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This is in spite of the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to withdraw its recognition for the ADC’s National Working Committee under the leadership of Senator DAVID MARK as National Chairman.

National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, BOLAJI ABDULLAHI, said the party has already fulfilled the legal requirement to issue a twenty-one-day notice to INEC on the congresses and national convention.

BOLAJI ABDULLAHI said by its action, INEC has created a situation that appears to have left the ADC without a leadership.

ABDULLAHI said such could not be the intention of the Court of Appeal ruling for status quo to be maintained on the leadership dispute in the party, which INEC claimed to have relied upon.

The ADC spokesman further noted that NAFIU GOMBE who initiated the court case against the DAVID MARK-led ADC National Working Committee, had resigned as Deputy National Chairman.

He alleged that NAFIU GOMBE was being used by the ruling All Progressives Congress to destabilize the opposition party, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
