Cote d'Ivoire Football Fans Denied US Visas for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Côte d’Ivoire’s national football team will be playing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup without their home-based fans.

This is because the United States immigration officials have refused to grant visas to the home-based fans of the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

The President of the National Committee of Elephants Supporters informed the AFP news agency about the development.

He said the supporters have cancelled the trip because the US government does not want to see supporters from certain countries, including the Côte d’Ivoire.

He said the supporters feel deeply hurts by the situation, because it prevents them from fulfilling their sacred duty to support the national team.

Côte d’Ivoire will play two of their three group matches in Philadelphia, against Ecuador on June 15 and Curacao on June 25.
