DEMOCRACY DAY: FG DECLARES PUBLIC HOLIDAY ON THURSDAY, JUNE 12

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, June 12 as public holiday for the commemoration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

The Minister of Interior, OLUBUNMI TUNJI-OJO, who made the declaration, congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of twenty-six years of an uninterrupted civil rule.

The Minister made the declaration in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry, MAGDALENE AJANI.

The statement noted that June 12 represents Nigeria’s historic journey to building a nation where truth and justice reign and peace is sustained and the future assured.

The Interior Minister is quoted as saying that the last twenty-six years in Nigeria tells the story of resilience, strength and courage and a hope Renewed than ever.
