D'Tigress Unveil FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Squad

Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D'Tigress, has announced the
final 12 players who will represent the country at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament 2026 in France. The list of players was confirmed by FIBA on Thursday.

Coach Rena Wakama includes experienced players like Ezinne Kalu, Sarah Ogoke, Amy Okonkwo, and Promise Amukamara in the list announced.

Other players in the squad are Elizabeth Balogun, Nicole Enabosi, Victoria Macaulay, Murjanatu Musa, Pallas Kunayi-Akpanah, Rita Igbokwe, Ifunaya Okoro, and Blessing Ejiofor.

The seven-time African champions will take part in the qualifying tournament from March 11 to 17 in Lyon, France. Where they will play Colombia on March 11, South Korea March 12, the Philippines March 14, France March 15, and Germany March 17.

However, the tournament will serve as a good test for cohesion and testing tactical bearing as Nigeria have already qualified for the FIBA Womens World Cup due to the
team winning the 2025 Women's AfroBasket.

Other qualified countries are host Germany, defending Champions USA, Australia and
Belgium.
