EFCC  ARREST 3 SUSPECTS BEHIND FAKE Q-NET PLATFORM, ONLINE UNIVERSITY

Three suspects have been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over their involvement of Q-net scam in Nigeria.

The suspects are Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale. They were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, in Abuja, and are currently undergoing interrogation in the Commission.

EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said the suspects operated the scam under the name of Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited. Oyewale said the suspects claimed to be representatives of Q-net, a global e-commerce and direct selling company.

The EFCC spokesman said Q-net has denied any link with the suspects and their activities, and investigations further revealed that the suspects were also running a fraudulent university training in pavilions and under trees.

He said they were offering fake Bachelor of Science degrees in Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Computer Studies, and Geology, among others with a false claim of affiliation with Quest International University, Malaysia.

The EFCC further alleged that the suspects charged their student victims between N1.2 million and N1.3 million as registration fees from which the suspected scammers raked in hundreds of millions of Naira in proceeds of crime.

This comes after EFCC operatives raided Q-net University at Compensation Layout, Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja, Earlier on March 24, 2025, where they arrested 133 suspects.
