Fmr CCT Chairman, DANLADI UMAR, Gets N200m Bail
Former Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, DANLADI UMAR, has secured bail in the sum of One Hundred Million Naira in his trial for alleged corruption and fraud.
Justice PETER KEKEMEKE of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, granted UMAR bail following his arraignment by the on a four-count charge bordering on allegedly conferring undue advantage on himself.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alleged the UMAR committed the crimes while serving as Chairman of the CCT.
In a brief ruling yesterday, Justice PETER KEKEMEKE also ordered UMAR to provide one surety in like sum, who must possess a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
Justice KEKEMEKE held that the prosecution failed to establish that the defendant was likely to jump bail or interfere with witnesses, and subsequently the case till October 29, 2026 for further hearing.
However, DANLADI UMAR is to remain at the Kuje Custodial Centre, pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
