Senator ROCHAS OKOROCHA Arrested at Abuja Hotel

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of former governor of Imo State, Senator ROCHAS OKOROCHA, on Monday night.

The Force Public Relations Office; ANIETE INIEDU, said Senator OKOROCHA was arrested at a hotel in Abuja and later released on bail.

INIEDU, who is a Chief Superintendent of Police said OKOROCHA was released after interrogation over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation, which last over an hour.

He noted that the former governor was asked to return to the Force Headquarters today for further interrogation, as investigations into the matter continue.

OKOROCHA was first invited to the Force Headquarters on September 2, which was rescheduled to September 8, but he reportedly failed to honour the police invitation.
