Gov Abiodun Splashes N50m on Super Falcons Ahead of 2026 WAFCON Qualifier Against Benin Amazons

The Ogun State Government has donated the sum of Fifty Million Naira to the Super Falcons of Nigeria in support of their 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Amazons of Benin Republic.

Governor DAPO ABIODUN announced the donation when he received the Super Falcons players and officials, who paid a visit to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Governor ABIODUN said the donation is recognition of the senior national female football team’s inspiring performances and to further motivate them for the task ahead.

ABIODUN noted that the return of the Super Falcons to the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta was validation that his administration was doing something right in Ogun State.

He said beyond hosting matches, the state government was transforming the stadium environment to a world-class sports hub — complete with a five-star hotel, cinema, shopping complex, among other facilities.
