Lagos Officials Rescue Unstable Woman in Distress at Panti Police Station

Officials of the Lagos State Government have rescued a well-dressed woman who is believed to be mentally unstable at the Panti Police Station in Yaba.

Officials of the Rescue Team of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development intervened after their attention was drawn to the woman who arrived at the police station, appearing to be in distress and claimed to want to file a complaint.

An unsigned statement on the Facebook page of the Lagos State Government further indicates that the unidentified woman took an Uber ride from Lekki to the Panti Police Station, with her luggage of three bags of different sizes.

The statement noted that the woman was later moved to one of the Lagos State–owned rehabilitation centres, where she is currently receiving medical and psychological care.

“The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. MOBOLAJI ABUBAKRE OGUNLENDE, commended the Rescue Team for their swift and professional response to the report, which reached the Ministry via Instagram.

“Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) TOYIN OKE-OSANYINTOLU, urged members of the public to promptly report any life-threatening situation or incident that could endanger individuals.

“Reiterating the Ministry’s “See Something, Say Something” policy, she further encouraged residents to draw the government’s attention to such cases by calling 0913 205 5075.”
