Lagos REC Assures PWDs of Inclusion in 2027 Election Processes

The INEC Office in Lagos State has expressed commitment to ensuring an inclusive, accessible, and fair democratic process for all citizens.

The INEC Administrative Secretary, OLUYEMI ADEYEMI-SHOWUNMI, gave the assurance during a sensitization programme focused on Persons With Disabilities, ahead of the 2027 general election.

ADEYEMI-SHOWUNMI who spoke on behalf of the Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor AYOBAMI SALAMI, said there are over two hundred and thirty-two thousand registered voters with disabilities nationwide.

She said inclusion must be tailored from braille guides to physical accessibility, preserving every voter's dignity and independence.
