Leadership Crisis: NNPP Mobilises Nationwide Protest against INEC
The leadership of the New Nigeria People Party, NNPP, loyal to the founder of the party, BONIFACE ANIEBONAM, is mobilizing its supports for a nationwide protest on Tuesday next week, January 20, 2026.
The NNPP’s nationwide peaceful protests are to hold at INEC’s national headquarters in Abuja and secretariats across the thirty-six states of the federation.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman, GILBERT AGBO MAJOR, and directed as all state executive committees of the NNPP.
He said the protest is to seek the enforcement of judgments by the Abia State High Court and the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory recognizing the leadership of the party under GILBERT AGBO MAJOR as National Chairman, and OGINNI OLAPOSI SUNDAY as National Secretary.
They also want INEC to restore the original logo and colours of the NNPP to the logo and colours of the RABIU MUSA KWANKWASO faction, which GILBERT AGBO MAJOR described as fake.
