NDLEA IMPOUNDS OVER N1B HARD DRUGS IN LAGOS HOTEL
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have raided a hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, and recovered hard drugs valued at ₦1,042,500,000 (One Billion Forty-Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira.)
NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said the operatives also arrested three suspects in connection with the 589 bags of Canadian Loud - a strong strain of cannabis, which was recovered from the hotel.
Babafemi said the NDLEA raided the
newly built 80-rooms five-storey hotel on Friday, April 25, 2025, adding that those arrested are Eze Ayitu; Ofuokwu Samuel; and Emmanuel Ameh, two of their accomplices, identified as Noble Philip and his partner Kenneth are currently at large.
He said other items recovered during the raid within the premises of The Hook Hotel, also known as Caesar Hotel and Caesar Lounge, at 16 Waziri Ibrahim street, off Elsie Femi Pearse street, Victoria Island, Lagos, include Toyota Prado Landcruiser, Toyota Sienna Vehicle, Volkswagen Delivery Van, Kia Ceranto Car, Grand Caravan Dodge, as well as 74 new TV sets; 10 used TV sets; and 13 refrigerators, among others.
In another development, the NDLEA also recorded a major interdiction in Jigawa state with a follow up operation in Kano, resulting in the seizure of a consignments of opioids being moved from Kano to Niger Republic and Yobe state through Jigawa on Wednesday April 23, 2025.
Femi Babafemi said during the operation, the NDLEA arrested two suspects, identified as Abba Ibrahim, 28, and Shuaibu Umar, 29, and also recovered 200,000 pills of tramadol 250mg and 217,500 capsules of pregabalin.
Babafemi said a swift follow up operation in Kano led to the arrest of the supplier, 41-year-old Jamilu Muhammad, in his residence at Mil Tara, Layin Technical area of Kano, where additional 1,584,000 pills of tramadol 250mg.
